Learning to play piano has become much easier since the advent of the Internet. Many courses are offered online and some are good and some not so good. The purpose of Frank-Reviews.com is to sort through the available courses for you and highlight what we feel are the best of the best.
As you can see by going to our Play Piano Reviews we have taken the four best courses that we have found and given you reviews of each. Our top choice is below. We encourage you to look at it further.
Ok. Is there anything I could possibly hook up to my piano or even a type of microphone or any type of technology out there where I can record my music I play on my piano and then it will convert it to music notes on music sheet paper through my laptop? I know I’ve seen it and movies and probably recording studio where they play the piano and the music notes appear on the computer screen on sheet music.
there is a program called cake walk and you have to buy a keyboard, hook it up to your laptop, and when u play, the notes appear on the screen. Also i could reccomend Finale. the downside is that calk walk is about $400.
My parents are considering purchasing a new upright acoustic piano, since our old one is extremely out of tune despite all the times we’ve gotten it tuned, and is about 150 years old. What brands are the best? What should I look for in a new piano? How much should my parents be willing to spend on it? I’m the only person in the family who plays piano, and I’m 17. I’ve played piano for 9 years and am at a fairly advanced level. I love rich, full sounds.
Depends on how much your parents are willing to spend. I have a Steinway Baby Grand but their uprights are also really nice, they cost around $20,000 but they are worth the money. Other piano’s that I have played and think are rather good are:
Kawai – cheapest around $4500
Bosendorfer – averages over $40, 000 (yes very expensive but one of the best I have every played).
Yamaha – around $4500
Baldwin – around $4000
Suzuki – around $3000
Note: prices are not exact, there are estimates based on the piano store I normally go to which is locally owned so you should go around looking at piano stores that sell only pianos not music stores. Don’t think that just ’cause it is cheap means you should get it. First try out the piano and get a feel for it(play some scales or a small simple song, large fancy songs tend to attract attention and some store managers don’t really like it while others think you are really interested in that piano.)after that talk to your parents and decide what fits there budget. Good luck and try to remember at least one song(i’m 18 and i will stop taking lessons after I graduate) since it will benefit you in the future(example: good stress reliever).

I really want to learn. I’m into music and learning new things and since I’m into music and learning I decided I want to play piano or either guitar but piano is better (in my opion)
So Yeah, how much would they cost for private lessons???
I don’t have a piano so… I can’t take online lessons but I’d get one later on.
I started piano lessons a couple months ago (after my grandma taught me some…) and we are paying $100 a month, or $25 dollars a week. I take these lessons at a music store, but in a private room, so it’s "private," but she doesn’t come to my house to teach. My instructor teaches all levels, so I am guessing lesson prices might be a standard rate…I think it all depends on who’s teaching.
I agree, piano is AWESOME, and a great way to really get into the music you like! I hope this helps…and good luck with your lessons.
Get the keyboard with 76 non-weighted keys that not only look like piano keys but also have varying levels of resistance.
My friend is producing a single for me, and one of the tracks uses mostly synthetic instruments through Garageband. We recorded the piano in "Piano On Stage", but listening back, this sounds way too electric. Normally I record with a Technics KN-550 – which has about the best piano sound of any keyboard I’ve ever played. Does anyone have any suggestions of a great, authentic piano sound for Garageband?
Don’t forget that you can sample a piano sound and use that in your software instrument sound selection. If thats too much of a hassle. Spend a bit of time fine tuning the sound envelopes that are preset on existing sounds. You can almost literally create any sound you can imagine in the details window with any instrument.

I really want to start learning how to play the piano. I already have a keyboard with 61 keys, i don’t know if i should buy a full sized piano, or even if it will make a difference…HELP!
1 It is OK for you to use a keyboard
2 make sure you have a proper keyboard stand. BUT key board stands tend to be higher then a normal piano. so please, PLEASE make sure when your sitting the keyboard 1-3 inches above your knee. THAT IS IMPORTANT keyboards are normally higher than a normal piano so you have to reach UP and when that happens your wrist gets tired and flops down making it impossible in the future to have good and position to play octaves trills and many other techniques. If you notice when your at a real piano the piano keyboard is a little above or at the same height as your waist. so your elbows should form a 85 degree angle. THIS IS IMPORTANT SO YOU GET USED TO A PIANO
3 the keyboard should have touch sense ( touch sense ~ when you hit the key hard the sound is loud when you it the key light the sound will come out light)
email me if you have any more questions
